Royal Easter Show

The RAS is responsible for conducting The Sydney Royal Ester Show since 1822. The first Show was in 1823 at Walker's Inn in Parramtta. In 1997 The Show mowed to Sydney Olimpic Park.
The show is for all family. You can find lots of music, extreme action performances, sideshow, food, rides and much more...

Yesterday, on 31/03, our class AMEP-B, went with Gordana to see The Rocks. We met at the train station at Kogarah, bought tickets and caught a train to the city. First we saw Cadman's Cottage, the oldest house in Sydney. The couple who lived there were convicts for little crimes: man stole a horse and the woman stole some knives. After that we stopped in front of the Campbell's Stores. They used to be warehouses and now they are very expensive restaurants.
Next, we crossed the Harbour Bridge to see the first church called Garrison Church. It was Built in 1875 and it was soldiers' church. Near the church are old terrace houses.
Later we walked down Argyle Street and through the tunnel. We also saw Foundation Park and we could imagine how people lived.
In The Rocks you can see where the first bakery, first hospital, Police Station and the Bank were.
The Rocks is part of history.
People came here and worked very hard to make this country more comfortable for me and you and our children. We should remember that.

Our First Excursion

Last Monday was International Woman's Day and every woman from ST.George TAFE was invited on an excursion to Hawthorne Park. They Hired a bus so we all met at the Migrat Centre in Rockdale. We left at 10 a.m and arrived in the Park 15 min. later.
First we met an Aboriginal man. His name was Max. He showed us a smoke ceremony and welcomed us. He also told us how important that ceremony was for Aboriginal people. After that we had a short walk through the bush with Max.
Half an hour later we said goodbye to Max. On that day we met another interesting person. I don't remember his name so I'll call him Bushwalker.
He came with his friends-animal: a frog, a bat, a possum and a Tawny frogmouth. They all have names and live in Bushwalker's garden. It was a very exiting experience especialy when we touched them.
About lunch time we got back to Migrat Center and had some sandwiches and fruits. While we were eating, we were listening to a music and some of us were dancing.
For me it was my first excursion and I ejoyed it very much. I hope we'll have another one soon.

My first day in Australia

My name is Joanna. I arrived in Sydney on 5 september, 2008. I didn't sleep much on the plane. I wached movies and also talked with my partner, Michael.
We arrived in the morning. Nobody was waiting for us. We didn't know anybody in Australia.
First night we stayed at backpackers in King Cross. It was a very exiting experience, especially at night.
For me, a girl born in small city, everything looked big and amazing.
I felt like an " Alice in the Wonderland"
